Mini Indian Fantails growing up ~

The two baby mini fantails are nearly feathered out.
Astra, their mother is in the middle in the photo above and to the right in the photo below.

Color seems to change depending on, wither I take the photo in natural sunlight or camera flash.

They both the offspring are going to be Ribbon tails.

The above photo is more true to the their colors.

Tortoise Garden ~

Few days ago, I finally was able to tame and clean up the Baby Tortoise garden.

Have been trying to grow Dandelions for her to eat but I am not able to keep them alive.
Think it might because they have very long tap roots like baby trees do and my pots are too shallow?
Never knew this weed could be such a challenge to grow inside.

This morning, I went ahead and added seeds to the empty pots.
Trying the Hawkbit dandelion seeds again, and various other tortoise safe greens.

Mindian Fantail babys~

Interesting that they seem to change colors
depending on the light.
One in my hand is in natural light from the window, the other two photos are with my flash.
Shed floor is darker than it looks in the pictures.
They are Mini Indian Fantails.

The one on the right side of the photo, is the one I am
holding in the photo above.

They look to be the same color with natural light.
Normally my original pair, throws different color offspring each time.

Goats ~

 Daisy above, Dam to April.

Blossom jumping onto the water tank. They have a lot of fun shoving each other off it.

April ,  she had to try to play with the cane after Blossom did.

April is a sweet heart, no where near as rowdy as Blossom is.
April jumping off the water tank.... ok shoved off by Blossom...

Blossom playing with my cane.

Blossom became tired of trying to figure out what to do with the cane, so she tossed it to the ground. LOL

April jumping onto another water tank and scaring one of the chickens at the same time.

Theo and his squabs ~

Was worried since Theo lost his foot while he was gone, that he would not be able to have offspring.
So I let Astra sit on some eggs, so I would know
one way or another.
Both hatched.

This is the only set of babies I will let them have, since we are heading into winter.

Hand-spinning in Oregon ~

Back in Oregon, when I still had long hair, I enjoyed handspinning yarn on my small front porch. There is something very peaceful about this hobby.

Some of the yarn I was working on at the time.

My Mother knitted my yarn into a beautiful scarf!
(The pillow is one of my watercolor paintings)

Bouncing Teenage Kids~

Looked out the kitchen window and what do I see.
Blossom, bouncing up and down on Stjarna's back.
Was trying to take a shot of her catching air but my timing was not good enough. LOL

Stjarna was being super careful and walking veryyyy slow.

Stjarna did not like the male goats, but the female Kids,,,
she lets them do anything.

Snacks ~

The perfect snack.
Petit Basque sheep cheese, grapes and  a pear
from my little Orchard.
On my favorite china.
Blanket has one of my paintings on it.

Tractor work ~

Miss having Dyfra in the horse pasture, she kept all the grass eaten down to the point it never looked like there was anything growing.

I had to send her away over a year ago because she ended up with very bad asthma and allergies and my last Icelandic horse, lets just say she is picky.

The little goats do their best but the grass has gotten out of hand.
Hard to see here, but much of it is as tall as my knees.

Mia~

Mia has decided hanging out in DH's Armoire is fun.
She is really good at opening doors.

Infant Tortoise ~

While cleaning the Infant tortoise's housing yesterday, she enjoyed a nice warm soak. Was very cute, watched her just about melt and relax.

Back in her housing, enjoying her 5th meal of the day.

I call her, Infant Putz,  because for such a tiny creature,
she can throw some big tantrums.

Her housing.... with Tortoise safe plants.

Stjarnas play day ~

Stjarna has been begging to go out and run in the front pasture for awhile.   She sure doesn't act 25 !
So I let her go play while I took Maggie for a short walk.
Used the iphone camera again....   was quite a distance away when I took the photos... am impressed.

Two left ~

Checked the nest today,
since I had not done it in awhile.
Only 4 of the 5 eggs hatched and now 2 of the
hatchlings are gone, leaving only this pair.

Maggie and I ~

Selfies are not my thing but I figured I would take one today.  Just used the Cell phone camera,
as I did not want to drop my good one again.

Maggie is doing a lot better, now that we have a new Farrier.
We are both Gimpy and old...  but still enjoy each others company.

Maggie wanted to go for a much longer walk but we will have to try another time.

Will see how we are both doing next spring, and then, maybe will go shopping for a cart.

Broken Toe and Hens ~

Broken Toe has been a good rooster, though I do wish the hens would stop grooming his once full beard and muffs.
He is with just a few of his favorites in this photo.

Rest of them are patrolling the place for bugs.

They are outstanding at keeping around the house and two most close pastures free of ticks.

House Finch chicks ~

Saw that the Mother finch was off getting food, so I decided to sneak a peak at the chicks.
Looks like 4 out of the 5 eggs hatched so far.
Almost looks like their are two different breeds of birds in the nest.
Time will tell.

Hatching Finches and a Pear Tree ~

Tried to get a photo as quickly as possible of the
baby Finches just starting to hatch.

Must of done some pretty good damage to my camera when I dropped it. Half the settings will no longer work and when I use the center focus... it just won't focus correctly.

Pear tree we planted the first spring after we arrived.
Have quite a few pears on it this year.
Managed to get a few before the birds eat them all.

Birds ~

The view through my kitchen window, poultry and pigeons.
Have a nice comfy chair, so I can sit and watch them.
(blurry thing in the upper photo is the cat's window bed, as they like watching birds too)

2nd batch of 5 eggs.... think the House finches are
over achievers.
They still have their first 5 offspring following them around asking for food.
Should be quite interesting when the 2nd batch of babies hatch and leave the nest.
If they all hatch, they will have 10 children following them around. LOL....
Not great photos, had arm weakness and fine motor tremors.

And right by the kitchen door, we have some more

 baby birds.
