We have snow ~

OK....  so I measured the snow.  8 1/2" deep.
Most snow I have seen here, since moving to this place.
Had to go take photos of some of the animals

Of course in the area of Oregon we used to live...we had a lot more snow.
So it was nice to see this.

Everyone is in the same pasture right now...since it is the only one I can get a heated water tank to.

But I don't think anyone minds... they all like each other.

Granted the animals wanted me to stop taking photos and feed them..and Dyfra had to tell me how bored she was and that I should get their hay...now!

No impressed on the new gutters, no only do they leak....
they put them too close to the roof line...
If we ever have Ice or heavy snow, they will get ripped right off.

Sky lights on the hen house, that were "repaired"  leak too, so I need to some how find the money and someone that knows what they are doing to fix it, before the roof is damaged.

Katie saying,, breakfast,, breakfast now!

Goats are not thrilled....

Nice having snow... missed the beautiful snow we had in Oregon.

Wonderful day at the Fine Art Museum~

I had originally planned to have a Birthday lunch on the 14th... sadly, they were booked full.. both on the 14th and 15th...
So on the 16th...
We headed out to the Fine Art Museum fairly early, since there was going to be snow.
This area comes to a stand still with any kind of bad weather.

So we walked around the museum,  seeing new collections.
Loved this Stain glass Dog Wood window.

Beautiful Marble Garden from India.

Some beautiful paintings, made sure to use No flash,
as I did not want to damage the paintings.

Stunning Tiffany lamps!  The workmanship was incredible.
After enjoying the museum,we went to the top floor to have lunch at the restaurant.

About half way through, tiny bits of snow started falling.
Took our time eating and enjoying the day, once we were finished we headed home.

The Birthday ~

The weather isn't playing nice, so we haven't been able to do what we had planned.
But my Birthday, has still been very nice.

Wonderful Birthday Breakfast, home made waffle,
fresh strawberries and

whip cream I can have.
Tasted great!

Beautiful flowers... and the yellow Rose.. really smells like a Rose!!

We have one more thing planned...however I will tell you about it later.

More Beautiful Eggs ~

Blue copper Marans Eggs are the most dark, the one
medium dark is a Welsummer,
the a pinkish Speckled Sussex,
Couple of Buff Orpington eggs and Golden Comet eggs.
Have some more Marans and Welsummers on order,
as I love their egg color.

Wild Canaries ~

Put the thistle feeder out and it just sat there for a month.... finally one morning I saw one wild canary...
then the next day, two... couple of days later.....
 think they told their friends!
Cats and humans love watching them.

First Blue Copper Maran Egg!

First Blue Copper Maran Egg, smaller one in center.  Can't wait for the next one.
Then far left, Speckled Sussex, next is a Welsummer and the two on the far right, bantam Ameracuna.
Eggs look a little lighter than they are, because of the lighting

Morning clouds ~

Couple of weeks ago, I came out and saw this...
A beautiful storm cloud morning
with bright sunshine streaming through..

National Gallery of Fine Art in DC ~

Went to the National Gallery in DC yesterday...
holy grief... if you have Menieres,
bring noise cancelling head phones. Is very loud.

Not a bad Gallery..
Glad they had wheel chairs... won't of been able to see it all, without one.
(though a scooter would be a lot nicer)

One very cool thing I saw, Leonardo da Vinci,
Ginevra de' Benci painting.
Is the only da Vinvci painting in the USA.

You can see the painting on This Link.

Did not take a photo of it, because it is so old. But here are some photos,, of other things we saw.

They had some neat Garden spaces too.

Was a long day but worth it.
Also ended up with some free parking in a handicapped spot, very close to the museum.
Allowed me to walk a little longer, before needing a wheel chair.

Dyfra ~

Photos of Dyfra this morning.
Yes, she has a fly sheet on... she has to have something on if I want to ride.
Should re name her ... Pig Pen. LOL

Trying to get my horses' to play, with me just there....

I just ride her walk, tolt (she has a good range of speed, while keeping the tempo clean) and canter. She does have a good Trot.

Bantams and Marans~

Took some photos today.

One of the Roo's has golden shoulders... not a good thing for Lavenders... but I like him a lot at this point.

Of course the Better Lavender... didn't want me to take his photo.
These are the bantam version of the
Ameraucana.
The Big hens, who will be moved to the large poultry Hen house soon,
are Blue Copper Maran.

Ameraucana Hen above.

The better Ameraucana Rooster above.

With the Blue Copper Maran hen.

Couple of the d'Uccle Bantams.

Only two of the hens came out with muffs
and beards.
Plan on selling the others.

First Blue Egg !

First Blue egg,

 at the end of July!
