Garden Photos~

Even though Maggie passed on last Feb, I still call the shed to the right, "Maggie's Shed".
The Birch Tree I planted nearly 3 years ago, is doing very well. Can barely see her shed any more.

The small bright green thing in the middle of the photo, is the Ginkgo tree my DH bought and planted for me last Autumn.
Very glad it survived the winter.

Also 3 years ago, I bought a couple of PawPaw Trees, DS planted those for me.
One died and the one above I really had to Baby a lot.
They are very hard to get started.

So last summer, I bought a replacement.
Was not able to baby it like I did the one above but learned from the previous ones and planted it
where it gets afternoon shade.
And its still alive!

Find the teenage Squirrel.
There are 3 of them and they are a lot of fun to watch.
Nari likes to sit there watching them too.

Butterflies ~

Last month DH took me to see the Butterflies.
Was not going to let anything stop me from going.
Had to use the wee Wheelchair and Ice Vest of course
but I really enjoyed my time out.

Nari and her Teeth ~

Poor Nari had to have 5 teeth out yesterday.

All but one looked totally normal on top but the Xray
 showed another story.
Spendy  $$$$$    but she should start to feel
 much better soon.
Was told Maine coons and Coon crosses, tend to have
teeth issues like this.

The Tractor and the Dandelion ~

I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
The Tractor has been sitting so long,
Dandelions are
growing in the grill.

Motorcycle Morning ~

DH enjoying the morning working on his Motorcycle.

Nari and the Catnip ~

Photos were just taken with the phone yesterday.
She wouldn't touch it until I put it in the planter with the Japanese Maple.

You can see Nari is very carefully licking the stem of the Catnip, in the  photo below.
LOL

Found it curious, she was not interested in the leaves.

Think she is happy.

New Cat Vet ~

Kirstin, Thank you so much for telling me about that Vet!!

He is a riot and willing to work with me.
Is really nice being treated as an knowledgeable
human being.

He was surprised I could brush Nari's teeth. Am not perfect with it but she will let me do it, as long as I pet her and spend time with her after.

Told him about Nari's teeth needing to be done and I thought they were really bad.
Gave me pain meds for her until he can do her teeth.

Said Nari is reabsorbing her some of her teeth but it is no where as bad as he thought it would be.

Is a bit of a haul to get there but worth it. Once I get Nari done, will have him do Mia's teeth and check Rose over to make sure.
And an extra bonus, they are open Sat, so if one of the cats need to go to the Vet and so DH can take them !

More Plants~

This gave me a good laugh....
My friends and family know the struggle is real..
LOL

Tiny goat's vaccine done~

Managed to get the tiny female goats their yearly
CD&T and de-wormed and bug sprayed.

Good thing they are easy to handle.

Gave them some sweet feed after.

Pretty much kicked my backside but I am glad I got
them done.

The 2oolb halter trained sheep will have to wait for
another day.

Peonies and what nots ~

DH moved the Peonies from their winter spot.
Moved the two Rose bushes that were bought on sale last Autumn out of the garage where they were during the
cold months.
Most likely put the Roses in Pots too.

 The Tiny Daffodils are blooming.

Many Honey Bees around the Peach flowers. I do not think this one was too impressed by me beeing around. ;O)

This is what my lawn looks like right now. I dislike using chemicals and I think it is better for the environment.

Finally figured out what these super small flowers are.
Field Pansy's - Viola rafinesquii Greene .
They are also safe for the Baby Tortoise to eat.

Signs of Spring ~

The older Peach tree is just starting to flower.

Pluot tree is blooming for the first time.
Very small flowers but it is nice to see.

Should have more blooms on the other fruit trees soon.

This is the first State I have lived in, were nature is so out of balance, it is hard to get plants to thrive and produce food.

Have been slowly releasing beneficial bugs, so I am hoping that I might get some fruit this year.

Eggs ~

Not breathing well enough today, to take one of the
cats to the new Vet.
But..
At least I could take a couple of photos of a basket of eggs...
Love the mint green speckled one, dark Marans
and
 the Turkey egg.

Rose of course wanted one.

Just keep Spinning ~~

Fairly bad double vision today.. so I am thinking of what I can do, at least for a little bit?

Well, I do not have to see to spin yarn.
Grab some Roving sit down and start spinning.

This was in 2014, before I cut my hair.
Yes, that is Mia on my lap while I was trying to ply yarn.

A couple of examples of the handmade yarn I make.

The merino roving I am spinning now, as per a
 previous blog post.

Miss my horses a lot, specially Maggie.
But it is allowing me to spin for short periods of time.

My moto- Just keep Spinning. ;O)

Vet shopping again ~

Like I needed this..... so I took Nari to the Vet today to get her vaccines.
Also was going to talk to her about Nari's on going stress issues.
The Ulcer med that the Vet gave her did nothing.
She told me all her blood work was normal.

To hold Nari over until I had the energy and in-between all my Doctor visits.. I gave her 2.5mg amitriptyline, once a day. Same med that the Vet in Oregon gave us for the move over here as Sadie and Nari would stress a lot.

During that short time, Nari gain 2.7lbs, her coat is shinny and she is going well. No longer throws up, normal manure...etc...
Hasn't been that way in a long time, not even with the med the Vet gave her.

As I am sitting there waiting, so I could talk strategies with this Vet in person..... she comes in and says I can't work with someone that is so dishonest.
Ah .... ok.... how am I dishonest when this is the first chance I had to come in to talk to her in person? Was I going to just let Nari suffer? I called and told them her med wasn't working, had no response back.

Then she thumbs through the record and says,, well you used this other such and such... yes, I said because the previous Vet recommend it. (and it is in that Vets records) Have not used it since they have all been put on Vet food by this Vet.

Well, Nari needs this and this... ok, I said. But again, she says she has to trust people and I am dishonest.

How the hell am I dishonest? I will not blindly follow anyone, I want someone that is willing to work with me.

Between all my Doctors visits, my bad health, I am doing the best I can.

Now I have to find another Vet, in the next month. So few deal with cats around here. Sigh ~~

Spinning Merino Roving ~

Back to handpsinning yarn.
Just some thing so
very peaceful about doing this.

This is the first time I have spun Merino fleece.
Fairly soft fleece which I prefer to spin and this time, I decided to get roving that was dyed, instead of the natural colors I tend to prefer.

Mia and the Birds~

Mia watching real live action Bird TV.
